Finding the right phone for you when you are on a budget can be very tricky. If you don’t want to be locked into a two – year contract you have to pay in cash. The average selling price is less the $300 and it will fall further. We will recommend you the best cheap smartphones you can buy.


Apple iPhone SE

This iPhone has the same specifications as the iPhone 6S and it costs around $400. It is the best choice for Apple fans who are broke but want a new phone. If you think that modern smartphones are too big, SE will be perfect for you.

It has A9 processor backed by 2 GB of RAM. There are 12 – megapixels main camera. The photos it made are sharp, crisp and natural – looking.  You also get Touch ID, Siri and NFC for Apple Pay. The 4 – inch screen is sharp and clean. You also get access to the library of apps and games. Gamers like this phone because the graphic is great and the speaker made excellent sound. The front – facing camera is just 1.2 – megapixels so it’s not very good for selfies. There’s only 16 GB of storage and there’s no 3D Touch.


ZTE Axon 7

This phone is ideal for anyone who wants a great Android phone for nearly $400. It has amazing specs, sharp camera and a sleek metal package which look very classy. It has prominent dual speaker grilles flanking a 5.5 – inch AMOLED screen. There is also a quad – core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.

Camera has 21 – megapixels sensor with optical and electronic stabilization. The front – facing camera has 8 – megapixels. There are front – facing stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos technology.

The only drawback is that the ZTE Axon 7 is not officially supported on Verizon or Sprint, so people sometimes report limited success. It is a bit slippery and there is no possibility of wireless charging but that shouldn’t be such a problem.


Moto G5 Plus

This is probably the best phone under $300. It is made for Android fans on a budget who prize substance. It has a 5.5 – inch full HD screen, speedy Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and 4 GB of RAM. The basic model has 32 GB of storage. 12-megapixel camera with autofocus makes great photos. Selfie camera has 5 – megapixels. The battery won’t let you down all day. On the back of the phone there is a fingerprint sensor.

Motorola isn’t so accurate when it comes to updates and there’s also not enough support for NFC. Motorola is selling a cheaper version of G5 Plus for $50 less but if you buy it you will get bad camera and half the RAM and storage capacity.


ZTE ZMax Pro

If you buy this phone you will get a 6-inch HD display, octa – core processor and a fingerprint sensor for an unbelievable price – less than $200. It is ideal for people who like big phones. It has Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor inside with 2 GB of RAM. There is 32 GB of storage with support for MicroSD card expansion. The battery should last a day easily. The design is nice and you have one USB Type-C port.

The main drawback is camera performance but for $180 you can’t find better one.
